On Thesis Statements

Thursday, November 29th, 2007

I have told you that a thesis statement for a history essay:

  • is the most important sentence (or two sentences) in your essay
  • is specific, complex and refutable
  • requires time, patience, thought and foresight
  • comes at the end of your introduction
  • will be restated (not repeated) in your concluding paragraph
